Optronics R&D Engineer

Tobii Tech’s Platform R&D is expanding in every corner and we are now looking for more optronics R&D engineers to help us keep up the development pace!

As an optronics R&D engineer in this fabolous team you will participate in research projects as well as design and develop eye tracking modules.

Platform R&D is the engineering department in Tobii Tech developing the core platforms for both internal and external customers. The platforms consist of Tobii custom made cameras, NIR illuminators and FW/SW that process images on chip or host and calculate signals such as eye position and gaze coordinates. As an R&D engineer in the platform department you will of course daily interact with all of these other development teams, and together you play an important part in creating eye tracking technology.

The role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be working in a large R&D organization with top talented and highly motivated individuals that will challenge you to continue to develop your skills. You will daily interact with our other development teams, and play an important part in creating eye tracking technology.

Your days will be filled with

  • Design and develop new illuminator and camera modules together with our suppliers
  • Participate in research projects to develop new concepts and technologies.
  • Support analysis of production quality.
  • Develop new simulation tools.
  • Build test-sets in our lab.

Travelling to conferences and partners around the world is part of the job.  

We are looking for someone who

  • Has experience in technical leadership
  • Has an M.Sc. or Ph.D. in engineering physics or equivalent.
  • Has at least two years of work experience from product development related to optical components.

Experience from sourcing from external partners is a merit, and if you have experience in using Matlab that is super! Knowledge in ray-tracing programs and test and measurement programs such as LabView is also a big plus.
