Business Developer Speciality markets

If you could add eye tracking to any product, changing whole industries and lives, where would you start? With the segment of what we call Specialty markets - the possibilities are endless.

If you have a strong business acumen combined with passion and curiosity for how to apply new technology in new user cases, in multiple industries: we are looking for you! As a business developer you will bring eye tracking to customers in a wide range of segments.

You will report to our VP Sales and business development Specialty Markets in Sweden and be located either in California or Washington, US - ready to dig deeper into future possibilities.

The role and responsibilities

The business development team is working with customers within VR, AR, personal computing, smartphones amongst many. In your role, you will be responsible for the specialty markets. Current customers within this field are for instance in varied market segments such as medical, diagnostics, gaming/entertainment, defence, and education segment.

You will work with both sales and account management with customers in US and Canada.

In the busiess development team, you will set the strategy for new customer acquisition by defining Tobii’s business value in the segment. You will define what segments are most likely to pick up eye tracking in the short term, understand that market and define a Go-to-Market plan. You will:

  • Work proactively by identifying and approaching potential customers within selected segments, e.g. medical industries.
  • Work with incoming cases and questions through web, e-mail and phone.
  • Drive the sales process from initial contact to long-term relationship.
  • Nurture, negotiate and close the deals.
  • Ensure customer success by managing existing accounts and giving them strong support tailored to their special needs
  • Interface and mediate between the internal product teams and the customer.
  • Act as project leader for smaller customer integration projects.

The position is located in US and requires a 1-2 business trips per month.

We are looking for someone who

You take your time to understand the customer needs – but also know the business value for Tobii. You have a fundamental technical understanding and strong communication skills.

On a more formal note, we need someone who

  • Has proven track record of sales and account management, preferably with electronic products and/or software.
  • Has been working with customers within segments such as medical, diagnostics, gaming/entertainment, defence, or education
  • Has a strong business acumen and ability to understand the use case of eye tracking - and how it applies to each segment and customer.
  • Good negotiation skills and ability to read agreements.
  • Understands that some deals take time. Patience is key!

We find it to be a strong merit if you have experience in working with B2B sales, especially in the tech business. If you have worked with hardware and/or software that is considered a plus!
